As in previous years, we have sought an accessible space in town within our modest budget, and we are happy to hold the Sussex Poetry Festival at the Rose Hill for the second time. While the main space is wheelchair-accessible, however, the toilets at the Rose Hill are not, and attendees requiring accessible facilities will need to use those at a nearby pub, the World’s End, 60–61 London Road. We do appreciate the unfortunate irony of having to send people to the world’s end to have a peaceful piss. As always, we welcome suggestions of accessible (and budget-friendly) venues in town.
Our lovely hosts at the Rose Hill aim to renovate their toilets to make them accessible, and this year we will be taking donations at the door to support this necessary endeavour (pun intended).
Admission to the Sussex Poetry Festival for carers accompanying a person with a disability is free.
